Spoiler Alert – this was not a camping trip!

Exploring the Garden Route with long stays.

Feeling like we need a change of lifestyle, we got tenants for the homestead and went in search of places to stay in the Garden Route. Why we decided to go in winter is still a mystery!

We rented a garden cottage in George, on the property of a friend of my (Jacs) mother, and spent two months trying not to freeze to death. Ha ha!!

Over this time we got to know George pretty well (enough to decide we don’t want to live there). It was, however, great to spend time with mom, who is an avid hiker.

We enjoyed several “loopies” around George and Sedgefield, which I will hopefully write some notes about shortly.
