We are a happily married couple, in our mid-50’s. My word that sounds so old! Ha ha!
We are web & IT people, aspiring travellers, and we aim to do a lot of camping around South Africa. We currently live in Durban, KZN.
Our blog is about our camping trips. Starting out, we travelled with a 6-sardine dome tent and a Kia Soul with not much boot space. We travel light. Without a fridge or ice-box, we can’t take much food with us, so we have learned to shop with the locals and eat more fresh food on our journeys. We love popping in to farm stalls and markets for our daily sustenance.
We have recently upgraded to a Skipper Model T Tent Trailer. There is a small fridge in the trailer, so we have more options in terms of food, but our mission to eat fresh and local remains important to us.
With a battery backup and solar charger, we’re good to go almost anywhere, as long as Tom (the Kia) doesn’t complain!Â
We will share our experiences, tips & tricks, and useful info about the places we visit. We hope to inspire other armchair travellers to get up and hit the road – whether you prefer a tent, caravan or motorhome. South Africa has so much to offer – beautiful scenery, awesome people, plentiful well-established campsites and parks.
