About the Skipper Model T

The design of the body and living areas of the Skipper Tent Trailer has been very well thought out, allowing all the comfort of a mini-caravan in a compact trailer. The basic construction of the trailer includes an aluminium frame, with white fibreglass body panels that are highly resistant to stone damage and rust. The fold-out, expanding canvas section of the body has most of the poles already attached in place to the canvas to simplify setting up camp.

The Skipper Tent Trailer incorporates good engineering with a strong, hot-dipped galvanized steel chassis. Corrosion-free materials and fasteners have been used where possible. It is equipped with a suspension suitable for just about any terrain.

The tents are manufactured in Skipper’s own factory under the watchful eye of Charmaine. The 100% cotton canvas performs well in bad weather as the fibres swell to create a watertight material when wet.

Need to know: For roadworthy tests and licensing, the Skipper is considered a caravan, or “Special trailer”. However, its compact design and lightweight construction make it easy to tow even with a smaller engine vehicle.
