Hlalanathi is the van Rensburg Family homeland – The farm has been in the ownership of the van Rensburg family since 1932. The present resort was opened by Jack van Rensburg in 1983. The resort has proven to be a welcoming place for regular guests and new visitors alike for the past 35 years.

Our main attraction is only 10 km away. This National Park boasts the second highest water fall in the world, the Tugela Falls, with the Amphitheatre as its backdrop. Perfect for a family day out, offering walks and Hikes for the whole family as well as more challenging hikes for the more experienced hikers. we have an information book with all the walks and hikes in our reception

Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve
18 000 HA of unspoilt land, The terrain varies from veld to forest. Wildlife is not prominent but there are several antelopes to be spotted. Every year in February the reserve hosts hosts the annual Catamaran Championships on the 7,000 ha dam. Visitors can also enjoy water sports activities such as fishing and canoeing. A Fisher-mans Paradise! 

Spionkop Nature Reserve
Visitors can view panoramas that stretch from hot valley bush-veld across to the Drakensberg Mountains, often covered in snow in the winter. Steeped in Anglo-Boer War history, the Reserve boasts a rich selection of wildlife amongst thorn savanna vegetation.
